Renowned Ukrainian coach Oleh Fedorchuk has shared his prediction for the Euro 2024 qualifying match between Northern Macedonia and Ukraine to take place today in Skopje.
"Personally, I was pleased with the result and the pragmatic game of the Ukraine national team against Germany. In the spring game against the same England, for some reason, a somewhat complicated tactic was chosen, while Rebrov chose a rational approach - and it almost brought victory in the game against a stronger opponent than us.
Against Northern Macedonia will be a very tough game. Whether you like it or not, but the game against this national team at the European championship two years ago comes to mind. Back then, the Blues and Yellows lost the second half completely.
We have an Achilles' heel when it comes to tactical variation in games against weaker opponents. We are not yet strong enough to play confidently at the top.
I think Northern Macedonia have grown to the point where they are a force to be reckoned with. They have had some spectacular victories, and their players play in good European championships.
My bet is 2-1 in favour of the national team. We are looking forward to a positive momentum, as we had none after our opening game against England, when we were unable to cross the middle of the pitch. At the same time, the game with Germany gave us confidence," Fedorchuk said.
