Jesus Navas becomes the oldest player in the history of the Spanish national team

According to the statistical portal OptaJose, the Sevilla captain became the oldest player to take part in official matches of the Spanish national team. At the time of the match, Navas was 37 years and 206 days old.

According to this indicator, Jesus was ahead of Santiago Canizares, who played in the 2006 FIFA World Cup match against Saudi Arabia at the age of 36 years and 248 days.
