For the third time in 2023, the Golden Talent project has named the best Ukrainian footballer of the month in the U-21 age category, traditionally by interviewing more than 100 experts. Based on their questionnaires, the May rating of players born in 2002-2003 was created.
Dynamo Kyiv midfielder Volodymyr Brazhko, who played on loan at Zorya Luhansk last season, was named the best Ukrainian footballer in May 2023 in the U-21 age category. This is his first victory within the project.
In May, 79 out of 123 experts voted for Brazhko. Although he lost out to his old Dynamo Academy team-mate Vladyslav Vanat in terms of the number of first places (26:36), he managed to compensate for this by getting more second places (40:18). And in general, Vanat, the best player in Ukraine in April in the U-21 age category, was included in fewer questionnaires - 73. The top three was rounded off by the best player of Ukraine in March in this age category - Georgii Sudakov (65 questionnaires).
Arsenii Batahov and Ilya Zabarnyi, who was named the best footballer of Ukraine in 2020 and 2021 in the U-19 age category, made the top five with a minimal advantage. At the end of the 2022/23 season, he won a place in Bournemouth's first-team squad, and the level of competition in the Premier League is the highest in the world.
