Georgii Sudakov: "The game against Croatia was difficult. It will be the same against Romania..."

Ukraine's youth national team midfielder Heorhii Sudakov spoke together with head coach Ruslan Rotan at a press conference ahead of the Euro 2023 (U-21) match against Romania, which will take place on 24 June in Bucharest.

Georgy Sudakov

- You have three matches for the national team behind you, and a substitute appearance in the match against Croatia. What is your functional condition? Are you ready to play 90 minutes?

- Of course, I played three 90-minute games in a short period of time. But I joined the youth national team, with which I went through a very difficult and long stage, and I got a lot of emotions with this team. I hope that I have already recovered. Now there are a lot of emotions after the matches. But we need to approach the next matches with a cool head. I am one hundred per cent ready, no matter how many minutes I have to play - 90 or more.

- The game against Romania will be extremely difficult, given the support of the opposing team from the fans. What are your thoughts on this?

- There are no weak teams at this Euro, all the teams are very strong. The game against Croatia was difficult. It will be the same against Romania, which is the host of the tournament. But first of all, we are preparing ourselves, we have an idea that we stick to. We want to show our football, what we are capable of. We never start from the opponents' game, but first of all from our own. We prepare for all Euro matches in the same way.
