UPL clubs invited to join the Union of European Clubs

At the General Meeting of the Ukrainian Premier League, which took place on 23 June at the Football House in Kyiv, representatives of the UPL clubs had a unique opportunity to meet with Katarina Pietlovic, Secretary General of the Union of European Clubs.

The Union of European Clubs (UEC) is a young organisation that has begun to unite professional football clubs in Europe, regardless of status, wealth and ambition. It aims to fill a huge void and defend the interests of the clubs that form the backbone of European football. The UEC's goal is to give Europe's small and medium-sized clubs a voice.

Katarina Pietlović addressed the UPL General Meeting and presented the goals of her organisation, which are based on the principles of equality of all members, solidarity, transparency and democracy.

"It was a great honour for me to meet with representatives of the Ukrainian Premier League clubs in Kyiv. I would like to invite football organisations and European clubs to visit Ukraine and support local football in these difficult times. If not now, then when? Football plays an important function in society, and ensuring the stability of Ukrainian clubs means supporting the people of Ukraine," says Katarina.

The participants of the UPL General Meeting, having listened to the UEC Secretary General and read the presentation documents, unanimously voted to support the organisation and expressed their readiness to join it.
