On 2 July, having defeated France 3-1 in the quarter-final match of Euro 2023 (U-21) and won a ticket to the semi-finals, the Ukrainian national team achieved a historic success - winning for our country the right to play in the football tournament of the Olympics for the first time!

However, the current work of Ruslan Rotan's team is not over. On 5 July, it will play in the Euro semi-finals against Spain. The match will take place at the Steaua Stadium in Bucharest (starting at 22.00 Kyiv time).

On Monday, after the enchanting events at the Cluj Arena, the manager of our national team gave his players a little breathing space - the training was restorative.

In the evening, the Ukrainian delegation moved from Cluj-Napoca to Bucharest, to the familiar Caro Hotel, where they were based during the group stage matches.

Today, 4 July, the national team will hold a pre-match training session. There is not much time to prepare for the semi-final match, but the opponent is already well studied: the dramatic 2-2 group match with the Spaniards provided a lot of information for reflection.

As for the personnel issues, striker Bohdan Viunnyk is still bothered by an elbow injury, but the doctors are doing everything possible to ensure that the coaching staff can count on him on Wednesday. Dmytro Kryskiv, who will miss the match due to too many yellow cards, will definitely not help the team. Instead, forward Vladyslav Vanat returns to the line-up after serving a two-match ban.
