Renowned coach and expert Oleh Fedorchuk assessed the prospects of Lviv's Karpaty led by Myron Markevych in the First League next season.

"Of course, the main contender for promotion is Karpaty. Myron Markevych has the full trust of the club's management, people there do not count money. In the new season, we will see 90 per cent new Karpaty.

But all these moves at Karpaty are risky. Markevich's personnel revolution may not work. He also called his son as an assistant... It's high time Ostap got out from under his father's tutelage and spread his wings, but he... Markevych junior didn't behave very well as a man when he left Mariupol. But let it be on his conscience.

Mircea Lucescu's son Razvan has been working full-time for how many years now? A lot. He has coached very decent teams - Rapid, the Romanian national team, and now the Greek PAOK. And what about Ostap Markevych?

But, despite all the "favouritism" of, let's say, Lions against the rest of the teams, not everything will be so easy in Lviv. It takes a year and a half for a team to play together. Markevych is a great coach, but he also needs to be prepared for the fact that the results won't come immediately. He must understand this, I'm sure he does, because he has Metalist behind him, which he turned from an average team into a real force in Ukrainian football at one time," Fedorchuk said.
