Gerrard gave his reasons for moving to Saudi Arabia

Former Aston Villa coach Steven Gerrard has commented on his appointment as head coach of Al Ittifaq.

"There were many reasons why I wanted to join the club. There are a lot of good people here, starting with the management. When I arrived in Saudi Arabia, I really felt like part of a family, I felt very welcome.

There are three factors that I always take into account. First, the option must be suitable for my family, the new stage must inspire and motivate. Secondly, the football project must be ambitious, meet the tasks and goals set. You also need to make sure you have the right contract, but that's always the last factor," Goal quoted Gerrard as saying.
