"Obviously, this is a great moment for MLS. From a commercial point of view, this transfer can do a lot. Messi will attract more viewers to the game from different regions of the world. In his person, MLS is getting perhaps the best player in the history of football.
I think not only the fans, but also the coaches and players will be happy to see him in our league," Rooney was quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
