Dynamo Kyiv continues preparations for the start of the new season in the Austrian federal state of Carinthia. Eight days of intense training are behind them, during which the White and Blues played three matches.
The weather in the region is quite variable. During the first week of training, there were both hot and rainy days. However, in the last few days, the weather has been very hot - the training session that started on Tuesday morning was held at temperatures above 30 degrees.
The training session on the pitch started unusually - instead of the traditional jogging and warm-up, Mircea Lucescu asked the players to take their positions and play a little without much resistance to get a better feel for the ball and their partners.
Then the game exercises alternated with exercises to develop agility, coordination and starting speed. The players were most excited about the mini-tournament, in which only field players took part, and instead of traditional gates, small ones were used. Divided into four teams, Dynamo players took turns competing on two small fields limited by training chips. The main difference from the traditional game was the absence of goalkeepers, and due to the size of the goal, the field players were also not allowed to play with their hands. However, some players even laid down in the box, trying to save the goal from a missed ball.
But the goalkeepers, who had been working on a separate programme for most of the training, had plenty of traditional work at the end of the training, when the field players practiced shots on goal, and the goalkeepers, respectively, their reaction and skill.
In the evening, the coaching staff gave the Dynamo players a rest, because on Wednesday early in the morning the team will leave for the airport in Klagenfurt, and from there - by plane to Switzerland, where a friendly match with the current Swiss champion, Young Boys, will take place in the city of Biel at the Tissot Arena.
