Turkish side Besiktas have abandoned their plans to sign a sponsorship deal with Russian company Gazprom and instead formalised a partnership with Emirates.
According to Aksam, the club made this decision due to fears of sanctions from FIFA and UEFA.
It was expected that Besiktas would receive 60 million euros from the cooperation with Gazprom. As part of the contract with Emirates, Besiktas will place the company's name on its stadium and shirts, for which it will receive 32 million euros.
At the same time, after the failure of the deal with Besiktas, Gazprom switched its attention to Croatian Hajduk: the company of the aggressor country wants to become the title sponsor of this club.
