Famous Ukrainian defender Dmytro Chygrynsky compared two coaches - Dynamo Kyiv coach Mircea Lucescu and Manchester City manager Josep Guardiola.
"I am closer to Lucescu because I played under him for many years. He is the number one person in my career. But, with all due respect to Lucescu, Guardiola is a stronger coach. Mister has spent most of his career in Ukraine and Turkey, while Guardiola has worked in La Liga, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League. You must admit that the trophies of these championships are different in value.
It's clear that Pep coached the best players, but that's not the point. He revolutionised world football. I say this in the present tense, when I saw how many players grew up under his leadership and how many trophies he won. His Manchester City team plays like a well-oiled machine," Ukrainian Football quoted Chygrynsky as saying.
