Former Zvyagel midfielder Vladyslav Pavlenko spoke about the changes at his club after the appointment of Yuriy Maksymov as its head coach. It will be recalled that in the 2023/24 season, this team from the Zhytomyr region will play in the Second League.
Vladislav Pavlenko- What will be Zvyagel's tournament objectives?
- I think that with such a coach and managers, the team will fulfil the task of promotion. The salaries are good, and there are bonuses. With such conditions, both in the training process and in the salary process, I think they should go higher.
- Are the salaries high?
- Well, not as high as in Polissia. But I think they will be 2-3 times higher than the previous ones. Probably, it will be UAH 30-40-50 thousand per month anyway. Or maybe even higher. Last season, when I was in charge, the salaries were from UAH 10 to a maximum of UAH 17-20 thousand, which was the ceiling. I think this ceiling will be the minimum at the club now. I think Maksymov, an experienced coach who has worked in the UPL, would not go to a team that is surviving, you know, without money. Such people don't just come.
- Would you be interested in working with him?
- Yes, I would be interested in working with him. I've worked with strong coaches, for example, at Tavria (Nikola Kostov) and Goverla (Vyacheslav Grozny). Maksymov can both push and joke. You can feel the level and professionalism. Training is intense and fast. And everything is positive, you know, fun, without sadness.
- Maksymov is a good coach for young people, will they progress?
- It's easy. He will teach and advise. And he has good contact with the team. 10 minutes ago I called the guys, they said they had just spoken to Maksymov, everything is OK. In general, we at Zvyagel kept ourselves together last season on the basis of the atmosphere in the team, not on salaries.
