Former Metalist player Jose Sosa in an interview with Sport Arena recalled the period in Kharkiv club. The Argentine emphasised that then team manager Myron Markevych had a great influence in the team.
- I always remember Myron Markevych with warmth. He was a great figure for that Metalist. He managed to combine foreigners and Ukrainians. These were players from South America and Europe. It was a great honour for me to play under his leadership, so I would like to meet him again and remember the great moments when we played in UPL and Europe.
I was in the team for a short time and I was given the captain's armband, it was almost habitual. However, the role of captain taught me to be even more responsible. Although that "Metalist" already had a lot of leaders - Edmar, Kleiton. It was an honour for me to be the captain of Metalist at that time.
Then the Ukrainian championship was on the rise, there were a lot of Argentine and Brazilian players, the level of competition was high. These are the decisions and moments that a player should analyse. Then I thought it was the best option, given my age. And I was not mistaken, I had two great seasons, I was able to take the chance, I moved to Atletico Madrid thanks to strong performances for Metalist, actually went to the World Cup, - said Sosa.
