Poland has reacted to the transfer of 33-year-old Ukrainian winger Yevhen Konoplyanka to ČFR Cluj. Journalists noted that the footballer unexpectedly went for promotion.
Journalists recalled that for a year and a half in the camp of the white-red 33-year-old Ukrainian winger did not prove himself.
"Konoplyanka did not make a furore in Krakowia, where he arrived at the beginning of 2022. At the beginning, he adapted expectantly, but while he was able to get in shape, the season was over. Then he had much more time to show himself, but in the last championship he scored only two goals and made two assists."
As a result, club president Janusz Filipiak decided to get rid of the highly-paid player.
"Expectations from the Ukrainian were much higher. So it's not surprising that Krakowia decided to get rid of him. Although the coaching staff evaluated him favourably, the final decision was Filipiak's. He decided, to Konoplyanka's surprise, not to renew his contract."
At the same time, the authors of the article noted that the footballer found a pretty good continuation of the career for himself, moving to the camp of an ambitious club.
"Itturns out that now the Ukrainian can get... sports promotion. Because that's how you should call the fact that he is linked with Romanian Cluj," - writes Gazeta.
