"Fenerbahce" is afraid to go to Chisinau because of the war in Ukraine. UEFA demanded special security guarantees from Moldova

UEFA has demanded that Moldova provide special security guarantees for the return leg of the Conference League 2nd qualifying round match between local Zimbru and Turkish side Fenerbahce, which will take place in Chisinau next Thursday, 3 August.

Such a move by UEFA was a reaction to Fenerbahce's fear. The Turkish club, in its communications with the organisation, drew attention to the fact that Chisinau is only 200 kilometres away from Odessa, which has been under fire from Russian occupiers in recent weeks.

In addition, Fenerbahce is also concerned about the attitude of Moldovan fans, who no less harshly than Ukrainians condemned the club for its recent visit to Russia for a friendly football tournament.

We would like to add that the first match between Zimbru and Fenerbahce took place yesterday in Istanbul and ended in a 5-0 victory for the Turkish team.

    В Молдову - страшно, а в Мариуполь - "технарь".
