Agent Ihor Kryvenko: "In the summer, our clubs mostly preferred not to invest in reinforcements"

FIFA agent Ihor Kryvenko has summed up the results of the Ukrainian transfer off-season ahead of the new Ukrainian championship, which started the day before.

- Polissia and LNZ were the most active clubs in the summer off-season. This is not surprising, as both teams were strengthening their squads as they were promoted to the elite division, where the level of play is much higher than in the first league. In addition, Polissia and LNZ have strong financial resources.

Oleksandriya suffered the biggest personnel losses. This is due to the fact that the team failed to qualify for the European Cup and then relied on rejuvenating the squad. As a result, Oleksandriya lost as many as six players from its first team.

Only Shakhtar could afford to buy three legionnaires from Brazil, one of whom, Neverton, cost as much as €3.6 million. Other clubs did not buy players with million-euro price tags. For example, Dnipro-1, a participant in the European Cups, bought players worth between 200,000 euros and 800,000 euros. In general, our clubs mostly attracted free players with free agent status and preferred not to invest in strengthening. By the way, this is a practice not only in Ukrainian football but also in the world. Now there is a hunt for strong free players," Kryvenko was quoted as saying by Expres.
