Roman Hryhorchuk: "We can't rule out the possibility that we, Ukrainians, are afraid of something. But Chornomorets' legionnaire

Chornomorets head coach Roman Grigorchuk spoke about the psychological state of his team's players in the wake of the recent rocket attacks on Odesa by the black country called Russia.

"I would rule out the idea that we are all scared - we shouldn't say that. What does it mean to be scared? Let's all get scared and hide. No, we have a slightly different approach to this. Of course, we are not crazy and approach everything wisely, but we exclude the possibility that we, Ukrainians, are afraid of something.

As for the legionnaires, of course, it's different. We've been living in this situation for a year and a half, so we can say that maybe we're a little bit used to it. And new people - of course, it's hard for them.

We have practical evidence of this. A footballer came to us (and this is not just one example), whom we already wanted to sign. But he came just in time for the days when we had a bit of an aggravation here. And that was it - there was no further talk of anything else, the person wanted to go home as soon as possible. We understand perfectly well, because he is not a Ukrainian.

Other legionnaires who could potentially come to us, after reading the news, refused. Perhaps not the players themselves, but their families and children. We also understand this.

But as for those legionnaires who have been with us for a long time, I have never heard any of them say that they were afraid or anything like that. Of course, maybe they have something like that in their hearts, but on the whole, they are men," said Grigorchuk during a press conference dedicated to the start of the season.
