Former president of the Romanian Football Federation Mircea Sandu has told why current Dynamo Kyiv coach Mircea Lucescu has never been able to return to the Romanian national team.
Mircea Sandu- Let me be very clear about Mircea. He is an extraordinary coach. But every time I proposed his candidature to the Executive Committee, they turned their noses up. They didn't want him. They were afraid. They didn't like the fact that Lucescu was always one step ahead and they stayed behind. He was overtaking them. He was always involved in every detail one hundred per cent. But - you'd have to be a fool to put someone against the majority. That was the only reason," Sandu told Romanian media.
