"Plastun's Ludogorets crashed out of the Champions League in dramatic style

Bulgarian Ludogorets, whose colours are defended by Ukrainian defender Ihor Plastun, failed to cope with Slovenian Olimpija in the second qualifying round of the Champions League.

The first match of the rivals, held in Bulgaria, ended in a draw (1:1), and in the return match Olimpija were stronger (2:1), which thus qualified for the next round.

It should be noted that the return match was extremely dramatic for Ludogorets. First Plastun's team opened the scoring, but then Olimpija restored the balance. The Slovenians managed to take the lead in the second minute of the second half, but in the 12th (!!!) penalty minute Ludogorets were awarded a penalty and with it a great chance to take the game into overtime. However, this opportunity was missed - Kiril Despodov failed to convert the penalty and the score remained 2-1 in favour of Olimpija.

Champions League. 2nd qualifying round. Return match

"Olimpija" ( Ljubljana , Slovenia) - "Ludogorets" (Razgrad, Bulgaria) - 2:1 (1:1)
Goals: Elyshnik (18, 90+2) - Despodov (15).

On 90+12 minutes Despodov failed to convert a penalty kick.

The first match - 1:1

We would like to add that Plastun played all 90 minutes in the first match against Olimpija, but he spent the return match on the bench.

We would like to add that now Ludogorets will continue to play in the Europa League. The first opponent of the Bulgarian team will be the loser of the pair of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League "Dinamo" (Zagreb, Croatia) - "Astana" (Kazakhstan). The first match between the rivals ended in a 4-0 defeat for the Croatian club, so Ludogorets will almost certainly face Astana in a two-match duel.
