Euro 2024 qualifying match Ukraine vs North Macedonia may be held in Prague

The Euro 2024 qualifying match between the national teams of Ukraine and North Macedonia, which is scheduled for 14 October, may be held in Prague. This was announced by the chairman of the board of the local Slavia, Jaroslav Tvrdik.

Eden Arena

According to him, the Ukrainian side asked Slavia about the possibility of holding the mentioned match at the stadium of this club - "Eden Arena". In response, the Prague residents not only responded with an agreement, but expressed their readiness to assume all the costs of both the match and the week-long stay of the Ukrainian national team in Prague.

"The Ukraine national team has asked us for the opportunity to play their October qualifying match at the Eden Arena. Part of the Ukrainian side's request is to be given the opportunity to train here for a week.

We know we are not the only ones - the Ukrainians are considering several options. For example, they made a similar request to Slovan from Bratislava. I think the decision will be made in the coming days.

But I must say that we have responded by expressing our readiness to assume the costs of accommodation of the Ukrainian national team in Prague, that is, we are ready to organise its match comprehensively. The rent for the Czech national team here is usually about 2-2.5 million crowns (80-100 thousand euros - ed.). This would be our contribution to helping Ukraine," Tvrdik said while talking to journalists.
