Spanish football club Celta has cancelled the contract with striker Santi Mina, who was found guilty in a case of sexual abuse of a woman, the club's press service reports.
"After careful analysis of the various legal opinions, Celta has taken the firm decision to unilaterally terminate the employment contract of Santi Mina.
This decision, which has the backing of La Liga, confirms without any doubt the club's original position, as from day one Celta has stressed that values are paramount and the club will defend them to the last, including the consequences this may have on sporting planning."
In July this year, Spanish striker Santi Mina was sentenced to four years in prison and fined €25,000.
