Minaya's head coach Volodymyr Sharan commented on his team's match against LNZ Cherkasy (0-3) in the 2nd round of the Ukrainian Championship, which took place last Saturday.
"Everything is fine, this is life. There were a lot of positive conversations after the first round game. And I heard it in the team. I mean our game against Dynamo. I asked the guys to forget that match. We really looked good, even though we lost 1-4. I stressed that the next match would be harder. And so it was.
Physically, I saw that the guys were not in the right shape. This is primarily the head coach's problem. Somewhere fatigue affected the result - it was a very difficult journey from Kyiv by train. And today they did not show their character. Perhaps, the absence of Oleksandr Bandura also affected. The goalkeeper is half the team.
The game was even before the break, but the skill of the LNZ players led to the first goal. We rebuilt after the break. We changed the tactical scheme, started well, but conceded the second goal and the guys started to open up. We were caught on the counterattack and Naumets scored the third goal. There was no tragedy. It's an unfortunate defeat, but we are preparing further," Sharan said.
