A goalkeeper who supported Putin has died in Russia

Former Russian national team goalkeeper Veniamin Mandrykin died at the age of 41. The goalkeeper was best known for his time at Tsk Moscow.

He was born on 30 August 1981 in Orenburg. Preliminary, the cause of death of the 41-year-old footballer was a heart attack. In 2010, the goalkeeper was involved in a traffic accident and since then remained paralysed. Mandrykin in April 2023 publicly said that he supports Putin and approves of the actions of the Russian army.

We shall remind you that when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky approved the sanctions list from the National Security and Defence Council and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Mandrykin was among 87 people from russia associated with sports.
