Ukrainian sabre player Olga Kharlan has spoken about her emotions after support from Ukrainian football clubs over her refusal to shake hands with a Russian at the World Cup.
"I did not expect it. Like from everyone who wrote to me, not only the football community. I didn't think it would be like this. For me it was out of the blue. But it feels really good. I guess I did something that hurt everyone.
I saw the football clubs supporting me, I saw the t-shirts with my statement from that video. I'm sitting there thinking, "Oh my God, what's going on?" That support is very cool, I'm very grateful. Thank you," Harlan said in a comment to FootballHub.
