Chelsea defender Reece James has been named the new captain of the London club, the Blues' press service reports.
"I'm very pleased to get this role. I know that I have a great responsibility because we have had eminent captains in the past. I have spent almost all my life at Chelsea. I started here when I was six years old. To graduate from the academy and move on is an incredible feeling for me and my family," the 23-year-old was quoted as saying by Chelsea's official website.
It will be recalled that the former London captain Cesar Azpilicueta left Stamford Bridge in the summer.
