Former Ukraine national team striker Ivan Getsko is shocked by the results of the European Cup matches involving Dynamo and Dnipro Dnipro-1
Ivan Getsko- Shame, there is no other word when analysing yesterday's performance of our clubs. Unfortunately, the baton of the losers from Poltava Vorskla, which was knocked out of the Conference League qualification by modest Georgian Dila, was picked up by two other domestic representatives - Dnipro-1 and Dynamo.
- Let's start with the more prestigious Europa League, where Dnipro travelled to Slavia.
- In such cases after a major defeat they say: they went on a tour. It's hard to believe, but Dnipro managed to shoot only once towards the visitors' goal during the whole match. This is a horror, especially considering that the opponent was not from the top football countries. Despite the fact that the hosts played in the minority from the 58th minute they continued to dictate the conditions and, as the cherry on the cake - brought the matter to a rout by scoring the third goal.
- What do you say about the last summer rookie of Dnipro players - Filippov, who replaced Dovbyk on the offensive edge?
- It is difficult to understand something here. A player without game practice, having spent only one training session with a new team, immediately gets into the starting lineup. This tactical move of coach Oleksandr Kuchera obviously didn't work, because Filippov was invisible. On the other hand, Filippov is one of those forwards, like Dovbik, who are dependent on their partners. And the middle line of the guests failed yesterday.
- Thanks to what Dnipro-1 can give a fight to Prague in a week in the return match and achieve revenge with the desired result?
- I have always been a realist and Dnipro-1 of the current model is not a team that can compete with Slavia. Dnipro have vulnerabilities in every line, while Slavia gives the impression of a team where every player clearly knows what to do on the pitch. Moreover, the manager of Slavia also keeps his hand on the pulse, who yesterday skilfully controlled the course of events, especially when his wards were left in the minority. That's why Dnipro can calmly prepare for the next relegation - the exams in the Conference League.
- Now about Dynamo, who lost to Aris, the Greek championship mid-table team. The Kyivians complained that the road to Thessaloniki took a lot of energy.
- These cheap excuses kill me the most. Did Dynamo players think that at the same time their peers are in the trenches reflecting attacks of Russian aggressors? Or, how to survive during air raids when there is a threat to the most precious thing - life? Dynamo players should be thankful that they can do what they love, unite, play hard and glorify Ukraine with their game. But they are tired, you see. After all, what to expect from them when there is no skill. "Dynamo is now a mediocre team, which nobody is afraid of even on the domestic arena.
- But Dynamo came to Greece in the status of UPL leaders, having pleased with high performance at the start.
- I have repeatedly noted that the level of the UPL is low, and when our teams on the international arena face a tight guardianship, skilful selection of the opponent, they become helpless. In addition, the physical preparation is lame and therefore it is difficult to add turnovers. Well, and the game of Kyiv and the same Dnipro players in defence already causes laughter. The impression that they play not professionals with million-dollar salaries, but amateurs. It is good that Dynamo's Buschan made the right conclusions from his unsuccessful game in the last calendar match with Obolon and helped out several times yesterday. Otherwise, Kyiv would not have avoided the defeat.
I would like to say separately about Dynamo manager Mircea Lucescu. In my opinion, he has already exhausted himself long ago, there is an impression that only the club management continues to trust him. Didn`t Lucescu know that Yarmolenko doesn`t work in defence, so it was necessary to build the game in such a way that Andriy was always covered by someone.
He was not aware that Shaparenko plays, as they say, on clean balls, weak in tackling. Aris took advantage of these gaps of Kyiv leaders and deservedly took the upper hand. Dynamo players were provided with proper conditions for training, but the level of their game is of serious concern. Unfortunately, our representatives in European cups have almost reached the bottom.
