UEFA has named the referee team for the return match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Conference League between Dynamo Kyiv and Greek Aris, which will take place next Thursday, 17 August, in Bucharest.
The chief referee of the upcoming match will be 34-year-old Sebastian Gishamer from Austria. He will be assisted on the lines by his compatriots Roland Riedel and Santino Schreiner. The VAR system will not be used for the match.
Gishamer has been a FIFA referee since 2018. The last international match in his career was the meeting between Sheriff and Maccabi Haifa in the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League this season, which took place on 26 July.
Neither matches involving Dynamo Kyiv, nor matches involving other Ukrainian clubs Gishamer has not yet refereed. At the national team level, the Austrian's paths once crossed with the Ukraine U-17 national team: in March 2019, this referee officiated the match between the Yellow-Blues and Spain (0:1) in the qualifying cycle of the European Youth Championship.
As for the degree of strictness of the head referee of the meeting between Dynamo and Aris, Gishamer is quite a loyal referee: he shows an average of 4 yellow cards per match, and gets a red card in every fourth match. The Austrian has awarded a penalty in about every third match under his stewardship.
