Scandalous news from the camp of Ukraine's rival in the Euro 2024 qualifying group. Defender and captain of the North Macedonia national team Stefan Ristovski publicly announced his refusal to play for the national team because of the conflict with its head coach Blagoja Milevski.
"I will be extremely sincere. I want to leave the North Macedonia national team for its own good.
Professional football is not just rolling the ball on the grass. Success comes when there is a plan, an idea, cohesion and respect. I have always played for the national team with all my heart. I love it.
I see that things are going in the wrong direction. And the results confirm it. The relationship between Blagoje Milevski and me is not the best. I had a private conversation with him, during which I, as captain, tried to tell him all the problems of the team. But my efforts were in vain.
I wish the national team all the best and success in the future. Thank you to our fans who have always supported us," wrote Ristovski on his page in the social network Instagram.
We will remind, one match with North Macedonia within the qualifying cycle of Euro-2024 the national team of Ukraine has already held, having achieved an away victory with a score of 3:2. One more time the teams will play on 14 October.
