Larin and the hosts tried to get back into the game. Villarreal also made changes to their line-up, releasing M. Gabbia instead of R. Albiol in the 67th minute. In the 72nd minute Mallorca made their fifth and last substitution: J. Llabres came on in place of O. Mascarel. Despite all efforts, Mallorca failed to equalise and the match ended 0-1 in favour of Villarreal. It was a disappointing result for the home side, who fought valiantly throughout the game. Both teams showed their skill and determination in this tense match. Mallorca can be proud of their performance, even though the result was not in their favour. Villarreal, on the other hand, are happy with their victory and the three points they earned in the La Liga standings.
