Ukrainian coach and functionary Stepan Yurchyshyn shared his impressions of the return match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Conference League between Dynamo Kyiv and Greek Aris (2:1, penalties - 6:5), which took place last Thursday in Bucharest. We would like to remind you that the Kyivians by the sum of two meetings (0:1, 2:1, penalty - 6:5) advanced to the next round of the tournament, where they will play with Turkish "Besiktas" for entering the group stage.
Stepan Yurchyshyn- The fact that Dynamo made it to the next round of the competition is, of course, a plus. The main thing is that there is a result and points in the UEFA coefficient table.
However, unfortunately, there is no pleasure from the game of Kyiv. There was some residue of unrealised. Dynamo's back line is too weak, its players often make mistakes. We all want the Kyiv team to look powerful and, as before, to demonstrate a confident and effective game on the Euro arena.
Perhaps, this is not happening due to the hard times that our country and football in particular are going through. As for the opponent, I liked Aris' game very much.
- How important for the capital club was the return of Andriy Yarmolenko this summer?
- As before, he should be a leading player, a leader, a real leader for Dynamo. But so far we can see that Andriy finds it a bit difficult. Apparently, the age and the level of our championship affect him. Frankly speaking, in his younger years Yarmolenko looked better.
But be that as it may, this player has an impact on the team. He is a personality, and a lot depends on him as a leader in the game.
