Serhiy Puchkov: "Most likely, something is wrong "upstairs" in Dnipro-1. The sale of Dovbik did not just happen...".

Renowned Ukrainian coach Serhiy Puchkov has commented on the results of the return match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League between Dnipro Dnipro-1 and Slavia Prague (1:1). We shall remind you that the Ukrainian team failed to reach the next round of the tournament on aggregate (0:3, 1:1).

Sergey Puchkov

- What can we say if the team didn't do the most important thing - they didn't make it to the next round of the tournament. Of course, it's a shame that it happened, but what can you do - the prerequisite with a minus sign was laid in the first match in Prague. It is extremely difficult to get back after 0:3, especially if you consider the level of the Czech team. If Slavia were not as we saw them in both games, it would still be possible to compete with them.

As for yesterday's return game, Dnipro-1 had a great desire to at least rehabilitate for the failure in the first match. But of course, it was difficult to do it. The team can't find an appropriate replacement for Dovbik to keep the opponent in constant tension.

All this is the internal affairs of the team, which Dnipro should sort out for themselves. It is worth determining where, how and where there are deficiencies. We can only sympathise with the elimination from the Europa League and wish to play well in the Conference League and qualify for the group round. Although the duel with the next opponent - Slovakian "Spartak" from Trnava will not be easy either.

- Recently it became known that Evgeniy Krasnikov left the position of the sports director of Dnipro-1. What do you connect it with?

- Most likely, there is something wrong "upstairs" in Dnipro-1. The sale of Dovbik abroad, as far as I am concerned, did not just happen. It may indicate that the financial issues in the club are not in order. Dnipro-1 probably knew about his expected move, but did not take care and did not find a skilful candidate for his place. This is what happened.
