On Saturday, 19 August, in the 4th round of the Ukrainian Youth Championship, Dynamo Kyiv met their peers from Chornomorets Odesa.

This match was an away match for our team and took place at Odesa's training base in Sauvignon. It is worth noting that in the previous rounds, the White and Blues won three games - over Minaj (3-0), Obolon (7-0) and Metalist 1925 (7-0), while Chornomorets drew with this season's newcomer LNZ (0-0), lost to Kolos (1-2) and another newcomer, Obolon (0-1).
From the first minutes, Dynamo tried to take control of the ball and moved the game to the opponent's half of the field. Our players ended several attacks with shots on goal, but they were either let down by the execution or the Chornomorets goalkeeper acted well to take the ball away. In particular, Ponomarenko, Kalyn, Kremchanin and Gerich scored good attempts. Soon after, the opponent only knocked the ball out from under Kalyn's feet at the last moment, and Gusev also took a long shot, which was inaccurately shot over the top of the goal by Gerich.
Due to the intense heat in the middle of each half, the referee paused so that the players of both teams could drink water and refresh themselves. After that, Dynamo took a promising free kick, but after a cross from the right, Balaba lacked just enough to reach the ball with his head in a jump. At the end of the half, Odesa tried to create tension at Dynamo's goal, but it did not come to dangerous shots. Finally, Kyiv were rewarded for their perseverance: Kremchanin took a great free kick, rounding the wall, and the ball flew just under the far post.
Soon after, Osipenko made a good but slightly inaccurate shot, for which he earned the praise of his teammates. What Kirill failed to do, Gusev managed to do in the time compensated for in the first half: taking advantage of Ponomarenko's pass, Alexei skilfully sent the ball past the home goalkeeper. With that, the teams went into the break.
The start of the second half was slightly delayed due to an air raid, but fortunately, it was short-lived. The guests continued to take the initiative and play the game at their own pace, but for some time it did not come to goal-scoring chances. Instead, the ball found the back of the net, but before that, the referee called offside, which caused dissatisfaction in the stands.
Meanwhile, at the opposite goal, Pirozhok saved his team from a goal after Ponomarenko's shot, making a spectacular save and pushing the ball out for a corner with his fist. A few minutes later, Surkis had to come into the game, reacting first to a strong shot by Hromadan and then saving his team once again with a spectacular save. In general, Chornomorets played the second half of the match more actively than the first. However, Dynamo regained the initiative quite quickly, and the coaching staff asked the players not to lose the ball.
Lobko was the closest to making it a big score, but after his shot into an empty net, the ball was taken by the far post! Odesa made a few more attempts to reduce the deficit, but they failed to do so, just as Dynamo failed to score.
