London-based Fulham have officially announced the transfer of striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal.
"The club can confirm that Aleksandar Mitrovic has joined Al Hilal this evening for a club-record transfer fee. The club was reluctant to accept the revised offer as the player had consistently expressed his desire to leave.
Mitrovic joined Fulham in January 2018, initially on a loan deal, and signed a permanent contract in the summer. In his first season, he helped the team win the Premier League play-off final, securing promotion to the Premier League, the first of three promotions to the top flight.
During the club's championship campaign in the 2021/2022 season, he scored 43 goals, setting a record for the most goals scored in a 46-game English league season and equalling the club's record for goals scored in a single campaign.
We wish Alexander all the best for the rest of his career," the club's press service said in a statement.
