Artem Frankov: "Dynamo's defensive play remains a horror flying on the wings of the night"

Famous journalist Artem Frankov told what he expects from the first play-off match of the Conference League qualification round between Dynamo Kyiv and Turkish Besiktas, which will take place tomorrow in Bucharest.

"In the last round of the Turkish championship Besiktas missed the victory in the match against Pendikspor - 1:1, the left defender of the Black Eagles Masuaku brought a meaningless penalty at the 90:00 mark. But that's no reason for Kara Cartallar fans to be despondent: the team looked a head stronger than their opponents and should have taken them out with a big score. A typical accident.

In principle, we can also talk about an accident in Dynamo's defeat to Chornomorets - 2:3, when the score was equal, the guests from Kyiv did not use five chances. But there are caveats:

1) Dynamo lost to Roman Grigorchuk's team with this score for the second time in a row;

2) the game of Mircea Lucescu's team in defence remains a horror flying on the wings of the night; this time Sirota earned a red card; Dyachuk brought the second goal, and the first one is largely on the conscience of Shaparenko and Buyalskiy who came to help the defence;

3) at the end of the match Samson Ihede came on the pitch and gave Dynamo team a real terror, crowned with a goal into an empty net; how did he beat everyone - after all, the guy looked great in the first rounds, you would know, if you were serious and studied...

Unfortunately, again and again I can't imagine Dynamo not conceding in a serious game. Especially knowing that ours are completely inept at defending standards, and the Turks have Gambian centre-back Omar Kolli, who is a magnificent header (not to mention the rest). The only hope is that our attack will be able and in time to deliver more of their lethal strikes! It worked out well against Aris, but this opponent is elementary stronger.

By the way, our old acquaintance - Cameroonian forward Vincent Aboubakar - is running ahead of them. Of course, he has aged since he scored for Dynamo Porto (2015, 2:2 in Kyiv), but at the World Cup-2022 he showed that he is still very good against a weak defence," Frankov said.
