"Why did I have to go to Saudi Arabia? I'm not interested in that. Not everyone really understands what I am made of. I value the sentimental aspect and responsibility much more than the financial interest. I could have gone to Al-Nasr, but I didn't. I could have gone to Fenerbahçe, but I said no. I have to finish what I have to do if I can. So I don't regret anything.

Saudi Arabia is doing what China once did. I don't know how long it will last. They needed to change their image, and they are investing a lot of money. They are making some efforts. This is not related to the presence of this or that player from Europe. The investments they make in football are less expensive than what they could do in terms of diplomacy. You can see how much interest football can generate," Lucescu told Playsport.
