Valery Mirsky has died. Our condolences

A well-known Ukrainian journalist and football official, Valeriy Mirsky, died today at the age of 85.

Valeriy Isayovych was the first editor-in-chief of the newspaper Komanda, founded in 1995. He worked at FC Dynamo Kyiv in various positions for a total of over 9 years.

In addition, Valeriy Mirsky devoted many years to the development of Ukrainian football, both as a journalist and a functionary.

On behalf of the club, Dynamo President Igor Surkis expressed his condolences to Valeriy Isayevich's family and friends:

"The staff of the Dynamo football club and I personally met the sad news of the death of a man who did a lot not only for our club, but also for the entire Ukrainian football with boundless sorrow.

Valeriy Mirsky was one of the first to make Dynamo Kyiv a true symbol of Ukraine. His bold publications on football in Soviet times always caused a great deal of excitement among readers and sparked heated discussions even in non-football circles.

An erudite, an intellectual, a loyal friend, a decent man and a true professional in his field - this is how we will remember Valery Isayevich Mirsky.

Today we all feel a bitter loss. On behalf of the club and all Dynamo players, I express my sincere condolences to Valeriy Isayovych's family and friends, to everyone who knew him personally. May he rest in peace...".

With respect and deep sorrow,

President of FC Dynamo Kyiv

Igor Surkis
