The match started in the hot, muggy weather that is currently prevailing in Kyiv, which could not but affect the players' actions on the pitch. The game started quite calmly, with neither team forcing things.

The home team took the initiative from the first minutes, and although both teams resorted to pressure when they lost the ball, it did not come to dangerous moments for a long time. The first shot on goal in the game took place in the 20th minute, but this shot by Matvey Ponomarenko was too weak and was not a problem for the goalkeeper. The visitors immediately responded with a powerful but off-target shot by Dmytro Shukh.

In the 28th minute, Kyiv earned a very promising free kick, but Ponomarenko's free kick was off target. And in the 35th minute, the visitors created their first really dangerous moment, but Taras Mikhavko blocked Ihor Vorobiak's shot from outside the box.

In the first half, Veres repeatedly tried to threaten Dynamo's goal through crosses into the penalty area, including from set pieces. In the 38th minute, one of these crosses led to a penalty. Mikhavko brought down Oleksandr Savchuk in the penalty area. The 11-metre penalty was converted by Dmytro Hodia, who hit the goalkeeper's left-hand corner. Thus, Dynamo conceded their first goal of the season.

During the first half, Dynamo played more actively in attack, trying to shoot on goal more often. This activity soon translated into a goal.

In the 57th minute, Dynamo finally equalised. Kremchanin sent a free kick almost from the sideline from the left flank into the centre of the penalty area, Gusev was ahead of everyone and threw the ball to Mikhavko, and the latter sent the ball into the net from close range with a one-touch shot, thus making amends for a foul in his own penalty area that led to a penalty kick for Kyiv.

A few minutes later, Vladyslav Gerich had every chance to put Kyiv ahead, but failed to beat Veres goalkeeper Mykhailo Kulyk from close range as the goalkeeper came out of the goal in time to reduce the angle of attack.

Later, the game calmed down for a while, although Dynamo kept trying to score the winning goal. In the 80th minute, a good attack by Kyiv resulted in a shot by Osypenko from a good position, but Kulyk was ready for it. A few minutes later, the ball miraculously did not end up in Veres' goal after a cross from Herych from the right flank and a close-range header from Lobko. A minute later, Herych himself threatened the goal, hitting the crossbar from close range, but from an acute angle.

In the closing minutes, despite the accumulated fatigue, Dynamo attacked the visitors' goal with great force, but Veres defended the scoreline. "For the first time this season, Dynamo loses points in the U-19 championship.
