This substitution gave the team's attack new vigour, but only in the 90th minute the first and only goal took place. The hero of the match was Freiburg player M. Philipp, who in the last minutes of the match hit the opponent's goal. The home crowd cheered when their team finally broke the deadlock and led 1-0. To the disappointment of Werder Bremen fans, despite the defeat, Freiburg came out victorious. Despite the defeat, Bremen fought hard until the last minute. Both teams showed tremendous athleticism and determination throughout the match, never ceasing to strive for victory. The substitutions made by both coaches added to the unpredictability of the game, giving it a different dynamic and adding fresh energy.
