With the start of the second half, the tension on the pitch only increased. In the 60th minute, Sheffield United player Will Osula received a yellow card, emphasising the physicality of the game.
The deadlock was finally broken in the 63rd minute when Haaland redeemed himself by scoring a superb goal against Manchester City. This goal rocked the Bramall Lane stadium and the home side's fans called for their team to get back into the game. Sheffield United responded with two substitutions in the 71st minute. Baldock was replaced by Jayden Bogle and Osula made way for Oliver McBurnie, signalling the manager's determination to change the course of the match. However, a relentless Manchester City continued to attack and in the 78th minute Sheffield United's Vincent Sousa received a yellow card. In the 85th minute, Sheffield United did succeed. Bogle scored a goal, giving the fans hope. However, their joy was short-lived: three minutes later Manchester City hit back. A quick substitution of Mateo Kovacic for Phil Foden in the 86th minute, and Foden immediately scored the winning goal in the 88th minute. The final whistle sounded and Manchester City earned a hard fought 2-1 victory over Sheffield United. Both teams showed their skill and determination throughout the match, leaving the spectators in suspense until the very end. This Premier League game at Bramall Lane showed the relentless desire of both teams to win, with Manchester City winning by the narrowest of margins.
