In the 83rd minute, Metz received a yellow card, which further increased the intensity of the game. Trying to consolidate their advantage, Metz made the last substitution in the 86th minute: G. Mikautadze and K. Sabali replaced I. Sané and J. Ndukidi. In the last minutes Clermont Foot made an attempt to equalise, hoping for a win. They made their last substitution in the 90th minute: Mohammed Cham came on to replace J. Bela. However, despite their efforts, Clermont Foot failed to score and the match ended 1-0 in favour of Metz. Both teams showed skill and determination throughout the match, but in the end the victory went to Metz.
