On 27 August, one of the matches of the 5th round of the Ukrainian football championship took place. Vorskla (Poltava) and Chornomorets (Odessa) met.

Poltava's Vorskla met Chornomorets in an exciting Premier League match at the Alexey Butovsky Stadium Vorskla. Both teams showed determination and skill throughout the game, but the victory remained for Poltava Vorskla with the score 2:1. The first half started with a bright goal scored by Poltava "Vorskla" player R. Stepanyuk in the 4th minute. This first goal set the tone for the whole half, in which Poltava Vorskla dominated. However, Chornomorets did not lose heart and tried to equalise the score. This caused stiff resistance from the Vorskla defence, as a result of which O. Sklyar received a yellow card in the 8th minute. As the half progressed, the tension increased, which led to another yellow card, this time for I. Perduta from Poltava Vorskla in the 42nd minute. Just before the break on the 44th minute Chornomorets player Y. Shporn received a warning. Shporn. Just before the half-time whistle Vorskla Poltava struck again, on the 45th minute V. Yurchenko hit the opponent's goal. Vorskla Poltava, leading 2:0 in the second half, was confident of their victory. The second half started with substitutions on both sides: on the 46th minute M. Bragaru and B. Boychuk appeared for Chornomorets.
These substitutions gave new energy to the attack of Chornomorets, and very soon Chornomorets managed to win back. In the 54th minute I. Perduta's unfortunate goal for Chornomorets gave Vorskla Poltava a chance for salvation, and in the 65th minute V. Kornienko and V. Yurchenko replaced I. Nesterenko and Thiago. Chornomorets received two yellow cards: V. Saliuk and A. Avagymyan were warned on the 69th and 75th minutes respectively. In an attempt to turn the tide, Chornomorets made two more substitutions in the 75th minute: S. Ayede and A. Shtogrin. Poltava Vorskla also made substitutions on 83rd and 89th minutes: Tiago Santana and A. Chelyadin came into the game. At Chornomorets G. Hadida was replaced by L. Guchek in the 88th minute, and at Poltava Vorskla A. Kulakovskiy appeared in the 89th minute. In the remaining minutes of the match both teams fought hard for the advantage, but neither of them could change the score. As a result, Poltava "Vorskla" defeated "Chornomorets" with the score 2:1. This Premier League match demonstrated the intensity and competitiveness of Ukrainian football. Fans saw a game full of goals, yellow cards and interesting substitutions. Both Poltava "Vorskla" and "Chornomorets" demonstrated their football skills, but in the end the victory and three points went to the first team.
