Manchester City head coach Josep Guardiola was named the best coach of the 2022/23 season by UEFA.
In addition to the Spaniard, the three contenders for this award were the Italians Simone Inzaghi (Inter) and Luciano Spalletti (Napoli).
First, a shortlist of the best coaches of the past season was compiled for voting. Then, the top three were determined by a vote of the head coaches of the clubs that played in a European competition last season and the coaches of the UEFA member states. Specially selected journalists were also among those who voted.
