"I wanted Zorya to get good money for me" - Nazariy Rusin on his move to Sunderland

Now a former Luhansk Zorya striker, Nazariy Rusin commented on his move from the club to English Sunderland, which was officially announced yesterday.

Nazariy Rusin

- Of course, it's interesting to play in a team that sets a goal of returning to the UPL. To feel this atmosphere, how they cheer there.

I wanted Zorya to get good money for me, which would help the team to close the deal. This way I can thank the club where I restarted my career and move on.

- Will you solve the language barrier issue on the spot?

- I'm not going to lie and say that I speak English well. Yes, I can more or less serve myself in everyday life and communicate freely with the legionnaires. But I will improve this knowledge.

At first, Sunderland will help me with an interpreter. The club employs a guy from Ukraine who will help me adapt to integrate into a new team from the very first days.

I plan to work with a teacher every day, practice in everyday life and by winter I will be able to speak fluently.

- Has Sunderland manager Tony Mobray discussed with you how he plans to use you on the pitch?

- We have spoken, but let the details remain between us. We'll see how it goes. Many guys from Ukraine come and open the door to European championships. God willing, if everything goes well, they will start inviting more of our players.
