The Manchester United scandal: Sancho publicly responds to ten Hag by calling himself a 'scapegoat'

Manchester United midfielder Jaydon Sancho commented on the words of the team's head coach, Erik ten Hag, who said after the English Championship match with Arsenal (1-3) that the player was not included in the squad because of his performance in training.

"We didn't include him in the squad based on his performance in training. At MU, you need to show your level every day. We have options in attack, so we didn't pick him in this game," said ten Hag.

Jaydon Sancho was quick to respond:

"Please don't believe everything you read! I won't let people say things that are not true at all. I did very well in training this week. I think I didn't make the squad for other reasons, which I won't go into. I've been the scapegoat for a long time and it's not fair!

All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and bring value to my team. I respect all the decisions that the coaching staff makes, I play with fantastic players and I'm grateful for that, and I know that every week I'm going to be challenged. I will continue to fight for this emblem, no matter what!" reads the official statement on the footballer's Instagram page.
