Denis Bunchukov: "People are counting on Sydorchuk and want him to really help Westerlo"

Denys Bunchukov, a graduate of the Dynamo football school who now plays for Wiese, toldUVabout the Belgian championship, where Serhiy Sydorchuk will play from yesterday.

Denis Bunchukov

- Why should Sydorchuk, at a respectable football age, move to the Belgian championship? What are the advantages?

- The Belgian league is somewhere between the Premier League, where there is a lot of intensity, and the Spanish league, where the pace is slowing down, but there are a lot of smart players. The level, of course, is lower than the European Top 5, but I think it will be a good test for Serhiy.

- What are the advantages of this championship?

- I can say that the Belgian championship is a strong league with great players. There are a lot of fans and the infrastructure is at a very high level.

- What are some of the league's disadvantages?

- It's hard to say anything about the disadvantages. I think it's a very good league. The only problem is its global popularity - fans from other countries pay little attention to it.

- Who will be Serhii's rivals in the new club? How is the midfield there?

- The midfield is strong, but I think Sergiy will cope with the competition.

- What kind of football does Westerlo play? What can they achieve this season?

- I happened to train with this team for two weeks. I even played one friendly match! So I can say that Westerlo is a high-level team with a very good coach. Despite their poor start in the league, they can achieve a lot this season.

- Will Sydorchuk become a prominent figure in the Belgian league?

- To be honest, I haven't seen Sergiy play for a few years now, so it's hard to say. But in any case, it will be very difficult to become a prominent figure, as the championship is of a fairly high level.

- Do you think Sergiy will be successful in Belgium? Will he be able to keep up with the pace of this championship?

- I think so. There are players of his age in the championship who are doing very well. Therefore, he has every chance to succeed here.

- Is it typical for the Jupiler League that players of his age and with such international experience come here?

- No, it's not. In my opinion, this is a championship where young Belgians, French and Dutch players are mostly starting their careers. There are also quite a few players on loan from well-known teams in the top European championships.

- Apart from the Belgian national teams returning home, are there any examples like the 32-year-old newcomer Sydorchuk?

- There are plenty of experienced players here, but the league is considered young. But the Belgian clubs are well aware of the need for newcomers, so they are counting on Sydorchuk and want him to really help Westerlo.
