Al Nasr defender Emerick Aubameyang shared his motivation for joining the Saudi club.
"Yes, I had other offers in the summer. I've been in touch with Athletic for a long time - since I joined Manchester City. We were still friends with the club's leaders, and there were no problems in communication, they were always there for me.
They know that I wanted to return to my home region and I will always be grateful to this club. But I think the right moment hasn't come yet, so I decided to take a different path. I plan to spend my football retirement either at Athletic or Bordeaux," Mundo Deportivo quoted LaPorte as saying.
It will be recalled that Al-Nasr paid Manchester City €27.5 million for the transfer of the 29-year-old Spaniard with French roots.
