Former head coach of the Ukraine national team Andriy Shevchenko said what he thinks about the current national team.
"The Ukraine national team is going through a wonderful period now. It is headed by such a great coach as Serhiy Rebrov, who has already changed the team and gave it the right mentality.
I think that we played a great match against England. Pressure is an advantage and we must live these moments to the fullest, despite the fact that we are talking about important matches. We have to feel the emotion in these special tests. That was my life: the more important the match was, the better prepared I was.
And now for us, these matches are much more than they have always been. We know how much our people are suffering and how much our soldiers are doing to protect Ukraine. Players, when they come to the national team, play for them. This is more important than qualification for the European Championship," Calciomercato quoted Shevchenko as saying.
