Former England striker Michael Owen has backed Harry Maguire after he scored another career goal. In a 3-1 friendly match against Scotland, the MU defender came on as a substitute in the second half and, unable to cope with the pressure from the stands, scored the ball into his own net.
"I've been wondering for a long time why Harry Maguire gets so much abuse. I am glad that Gareth Southgate has drawn attention to this. I don't know him that well personally, but he's a very good player and, all things considered, a decent man.
He's never let England down, but he seems to get a lot of laughs. Very sad," Owen wrote on Twitter.
