Jozsef Szabo: "Maksymov will definitely build a good game at Dnipro-1. Just not right away"

Former head coach of the Ukrainian national team and Dynamo Kyiv Jozsef Szabo told UPL TV in an interview that he thinks Yuriy Maksymov should be appointed as the new head coach of Dnipro-1.

- I didn't understand why Dnipro-1 was looking for a coach abroad when we have so many of our own coaches. There is Mykhailenko, there is Maksymov. I am very happy for Yura. He worked very well at Vorskla. I don't know why he was fired from there. So, I will be rooting for him.

- What will Maksymov fight for with Dnipro-1?

- He will definitely build a good game there. Just not right away. Nothing happens at once. We need to wait a bit, so he can see what's going on with the guys there. Someone has ruined this team. Yurii has the character, skills and abilities to be a good coach for Dnipro-1.

- How quickly will he remember what the UPL is after working in the second league?

- Now there is not such a huge difference between the UPL and lower leagues as there used to be. A lot of players have left Ukraine. So, players from the first and second leagues joined the UPL. This is how we play football now. We'll see what happens. I don't know whether Kolomoisky gives money or not. Kolomoisky is not there now. I don't know who will be the owner of Dnipro-1.

- How will the fact that he was not the one who prepared and built this team during the off-season affect Maksymov?

- That's why I say we need to wait. He came and took the team. We need to deal with the players. How they trained, what kind of discipline they have in the team, etc. This takes time.
